Why should you use a fishingguide ?
Exploring water and behaviour of the predators is something which is not easy. Every water and every species of predator has his own behaviour. A guide knows them well by many years of experience. There are fishing guide schools where you can learn how to be polite and helpfull to your clients but the understanding of "watersense" is something you only can learn by many years being out on the water.
As we all know is fishing more than having some luck on a sunny day. Fishing is watersense. Fishing is being one with mother nature and feeling and thinking like a predator. Thinking in wind-directions, air pressure and lots of other things makes your day a good or a less good fishing day ( there are no bad days because going out fishing is always better then a day at work or at the couch ;-) )
What can you expect from me as a professional guide?
I am always an early starter. The best hours and the quitest hours on the water are just after sunrise. In summer and winter: I always want to be out early! So if you want a catch a asp in june: we are ( if you want) at the trailerramp at 04:30 in the morning. You can see the sunrise from the boat and the hunting asp in the first daylights.
What do I have for you ?
I have a good aluminium fishing boat, 500 cm long, 208 wide, 3 good chairs with air pressure so your back should be save if we are moving at high speed. A 80 lbs MinKota fronttroller, a 60HP Suzuki engine with trolling function. A big casting deck, loads of rods, lures and other stuff you may use. I take care of a lunch, coffee, tea, and some other things you can eat or drink...
What should you arrange as a client from outside Holland?
You need in Holland a "vispas". Thats a licence for most of the bigger waters in Holland. Of course I can help you with it to arrange. You should also arrange a hotel or other place to stay. Here I can also give you advice which hotel or B&B to book.
The price of a good fishing boat.
A completly equiped fishing boat like the Monark I am driving will cost around 25000 euro ( or even more). For people who only fish 1 to 5 times a year it is much cheaper to go out with a guide than buying a boat yourself. Insurance, a place to park it, service on the boat and engine and all the other money you spend yearly are way over the cost of a fishing guide for a few times each year.
Last but not least...
A fishing day is more then just fishing. A good conversation about work, friends, relatives, politics or any other subject is also part of the day. Also lots of fish talk from my side, I have been 37 times in Sweden for fishing and have nice storys to tell about the fishing in Sweden. But also Ireland, Denmark and Italy. And of course... Holland.. A good conversation and always the tention in the air that your lure is being hit by a big pike or other predator. Every moment a big pike, zander, asp, catfish, perch or ide can hit your lure like a madmen! Always tention!
And allround guide as I am. There is a good chance of catching 1 or more species like pike, ide, zander, perch, asp and catfish.
The silver arrow: ASP. Nice dubbelstrike casting with poppers.
The mega roach.. Ides are very common on Dutch rivers and in summertime easy to catch with lures.
